Questions about Eyelash Extensions
What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?
iLashQueen Lash Extensions are a glamorous new way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes. Each singe, synthetic lash is bonded to a single natural lash, the final result is flawless and undetectable. Both bottom and top eyelash extensions may be applied and styled to the client’s liking. They will add length, thickness, and fullness that can’t be achieved with traditional makeup gallery. They will give you a fuller, darker lash line without the need for mascara. You won't feel like you are wearing them, and no one will be able to tell that they are not your natural eyelashes.
How much do the extensions cost?
iLashQueen Lash Extension prices vary by stylist. However the average full set application ranges from about $150 to $250. A "fill" typically cost about $65 to $125.
What is the procedure like?
The application process takes about two hours. Client lays flat on her back on a cushioned massage table. Clients usually fall asleep for a short nap and awakes to beautiful new eyelash extensions! To maintain a full appearance, it is recommended to get a refill every 2-3 weeks. Your initial full set takes around 90 minutes to 2 hours and refills can be done in as little as 45 minutes.
How long do the extensions last? What is the maintenance process?
When properly applied, using the iLashQueen Pro Adhesive, lash extensions can be worn for about four full weeks. When your natural lash sheds, the extension will fall out with that lash. Similar to acrylic nails, around 2-4 weeks a client may undergo a “fill” to replace any single strands that have fallen off over the course of the month. To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of lashes, a visit to your lash professional is recommended every 4 weeks based on your own natural lash growth cycle. Gently brush lashes each morning to keep them looking well groomed day to day. The average customer gets a "fill" one time per month.
How often do I need a fill?
There is no set timeframe. Your natural lashes usually naturally fall off every six weeks. When the lashes are not as full as you like anymore, you simply come for a fill. The average customer comes in about once a month. Some clients prefer their lashes very full, and other customers prefer a lighter look.
Where Can I Get Them Done?
What is the difference between classic lashes & volume lashes?
1. Price: Volume costs 2x as much.
2. Application Time: Takes twice as long.
3. Technique: Instead of a single lash, 2-4 (2D-4D) thinner lashes are used to create a lightweight fan and that fan is applied to the lash.

What Are the Eyelash Extensions Made Of?
iLashQueen eyelash extensions are made a poly-fiber material that is made to resemble real silk. We do not carry actual animal hair fibers because real mink eyelash extensions come from mink animals usually kept in mink farms. Real mink hair may pose some health risks if the hair was not sanitized properly. Also, real mink eyelash extensions don’t have a strong curl pattern, so often look unflattering once applied.
How Are Eyelash Extensions Categorized?
Eyelash extensions are sold with four categories: material, curl type, thickness, and length.
An example is (Silk C-curl .20 12mm). .25 is our thickest lash and should be used on people with sturdy/strong eyelashes. .15 is our thinnest lash and is used on people with thin or weaker lashes. .15 is also lighter and more natural looking. 7mm is our shortest lash, and is often used for bottom lashes. 16mm is our longest lash and gives the most "bling" to a client. D-curl has a stronger curl than C-curl. We only carry synthetic silk lashes. Synthetic lashes look and feel like real but are easier to apply and they do not lose their curl. Synthetic lashes are the most commonly used type of eyelash extensions in the U.S
What is the Difference Between Eyelash Extension Adhesives?
Yes, eyelash extension adhesive or glue comes with three types of qualities 1) how long the glue will hold an eyelash extension and how fast the glue dries. The stronger the glue is the stronger the fumes will be and the quicker it will dry. One thing to look for in glue is to make sure it does not have formaldehyde in it. Many people are allergic to formaldehyde. iLashQueen products do not contain formaldehyde. The iLashQueen Pro Adhesive is recommended for top eyelash extensions and the iLashQueen Sensitve Formula is recommended for bottom lash extensions.
How long is Eyelash Extension Adhesive Good For?
Eyelash extension adhesive is good for a maximum of 60 days once the bottle is opened. This 60 day time period is greatly dependent on the care that is given to the adhesive and is the best case scenario. Adhesive longevity can be increased by shaking the adhesive on a daily basis, opening the adhesive as little as possible, keeping the adhesive out of direct sun light, keeping the adhesive in a normal room temperature environment, and closing the bottle as soon as possible after use. Once adhesive gets closer to the 60 day mark the consistency of the adhesive will become thicker and stringy and this is a sign that it is time to get new adhesive.
Questions about the Eyelash Extension Business
Eyelashes command a large share of the multibillion dollar cosmetic industry and eyelash extensions are one of the fastest growing segments (Everybody wants thicker, longer lashes!).
How Much Money do Eyelash Extension Stylists Make?
The answer is it greatly depends. It depends on location, whether the location is in a private home or a salon, supply and demand of stylists, and the quality of the service given. Some stylists in a location like Los Angeles or New York make as much as $400 for a full set. A stylists in a small town doing lashes out of his or her home could make $95 for a full set. The way to find out what you could make as an eyelash extension stylist is look at what people in your area are charging. You need to take all factors into account. Obviously a person in salon will charge more than a person doing eyelash extensions out of a house because of overhead. The main thing a stylist should focus on is quality. If you provide a quality product people will travel miles to have you do their lashes.
